I dont like the deal cuz its a first liner for a future 3rd liner and what a late 2nd who could be a bust to may a 3rd or 4th liner. I would agree with you if Walker actually was a 1st liner....He had a career year of 67 points at the age of 31. Before that he was very injury prone only playing 60 games and getting 33 points in 02-03, 28 games and 9 points in 01-02, and 74 games and 54 points in 00-01. Drew Stafford was the 13th overall pick this year. I find it funny how no one complains about me giving up Alexei Zhitnik, Roman Cechmanek, and a 3rd for the 11th overall, Mike Dunham, and Aaron Ward but it's different when your deal the "prospect" instead of the pick. Anyway my deals are finalized and fair like I thought when I first made them so please leave me alone...lol

I think this trade is prett brutal.... Pitts gets raped IMO. Our league doesnt value picks enough. Markov could easilly and may alreayd have surpass/ed Poti and Gagne can produce enough to be a 1st liner when prompted... then 2 2nd rounder? yikes... I also thought Pittsburgh was winning by a lot here. A 77 OV Gagne and 2 2nd's isn't good enough for an 82 OV elite scoring winger Elias. But Markov is worth more than Poti so I feel it kinda evens out. ps. Gagne is only looking to be an excellent 2-way foward now not the first line tagged on him when he scored 33 goals and 33 assists as a 21/22 year old.

I would agree with you if Walker actually was a 1st liner.... Scott Walker was a 1st liner this year. He and Sullivan tore it up when Sullivan was traded to the Preds.

Scott Walker was a 1st liner this year. He and Sullivan tore it up when Sullivan was traded to the Preds. I meant figuratively. Wasn't Ruutu a 1st liner on the Hawks at the end of the year? IYO is Scott Walker a 1st line player? I think he had a career year and next year he'll be a good 3rd liner behind Justin Williams.

OK, just to chime in. I think the Wally-Flyers deal is within 60/40. Blues new deal is close, really close. I can't decide whether it's within 60/40 yet.

He's a 1st liner in FHL also.

Again when I said he's not a 1st liner im not judging off of one season here. If you asked me if Walker played like a 1st line player in 03-04 yes he did but if you look at the rest of his career he's not. This was the best year of his career so he is obviously overrated. Next season he'll probably be a 77 OV or 78 OV which is a 2nd line player. Or if im lucky he'll have another good season but looking at his career nothing is definite Look at last seasons ratings....Walker is a 75 OV

You're sayin he's not as valuable cause he was a checker up until this year? So he has a good season and his worth is still of a checker? If that was the case Guerin and Holik would still be worth what Maltby is. He's a 79 OV player. His worth is of a 1st liner. McCabe was a 78. Had a good year. Now he's an 82. If someone wanted him from me and told me he was a 78 last year so he's goin offer me somthin based on that i'd give him one of these. Kris Draper is in the same boat as Walker. (although Draper will be a checker the rest of his career while Walker won't)

(although Draper will be a checker the rest of his career while Walker won't) McCabe had an excellent season a few years ago and he's also a lot younger and getting near his prime so no. Walker was always a good 2nd liner on the Preds last season he was able to stay healthy and score more and was a 1st liner. His value isn't that of a 1st liner because he was only a 1st liner for 1 season. If I traded for someone who consistently gets 60+ points on a weak team he would have a higher value.

So you're sayin even though his rating is 79 he's not worth 1st line value?

So you're sayin even though his rating is 79 he's not worth 1st line value? No because he had a career year at the age of 31. If he had other years of being anything more than a 2nd liner he'd have more value. So your saying since he had one really good season he has the value of a 1st liner

But he's on Blues 2nd line, which surely makes him a 2nd liner no?

Oh ok since he is rated a 79 this season he'll be a 1st liner next year and the year after that too then Only if that was true..... Let's just say if I didn't have Williams I wouldn't have done this deal.
