Sure, sorry guys. I know better, but it was a strange coincidence with Wally and I. All fixed, thanks.

No biggie, was really more concerned with what year the draft picks were than which teams were involved. We are able to figure that out but draft picks we need the years just in case they are not this years.

Four 1st Rounders for Kovalchuk? Holy overpayment, Batman.

Maybe some hurrassment for his affinity for wearing cocktail dresses and calling himself Bonifa on the weekends?

meh.
Lets say Kovalchuk was a rfa and some team signed him to an offer sheet. (of the same contract)
If the team didn't match they would get (i'm not 100% sure) 5 1st rounders for him.

I thought the Kovy deal was fair value and Chara was overpayment.

Erik Cole was traded for three firsts once upon a time.

Just a blanket statement that 4 1st for kovy is an overpayment is somewhat ignorant. You need to look at the players, picks and contract.
Firstly, while I hate IK this is a sim league. So they don't have a category called "heart, or likable". IK is a top 10 asset in the league in that he is still only 27 yrs old and is likely the 4th best goal scorer in the league.
Now lets look at the players I gave up: Cowen- Great upside. In fact, i thought he was going go go top 3 a few years ago, but then again did anyone managed to watch ANY of Team Canada at the WJHCs? Can you say terrible? 9th overall- Easily the best part of the deal, but still not going to get any 1st line player or #1 dmen with this spot. Best he can hope for is Fowler or Gormley falling here. MTL &NYR 1st- Both are mid to late picks and I for one didn't like this class nearly as much as last year.
Wally is a savy drafter so I have no doubt he will get quality with these picks but all in all, I will take the sure fire Superstar and top 5 perennial scorer every day of the week. He won't play for 17 years, but you can bet with that kind of money he will be playing as long as he can which also gives me the hope that I will have him until he is at least 37-40.

Well Cowen was hurt, that's why he played terrible.
And have you seen the Kovalchuk contract? First 2 years are at 6 mil. The next 5 are at 11.5.
Yikes.

Cowen wasn't hurt at the WJHCs, he WAS hurt prior and still hasn't been the same since he WAS hurt.
