It's borderline but it's not a complete blowout and within 60/40. If Brindy helps the Av's go deep into the playoffs then the situation completely changes. And remember that it's not like he's definitely retiring after this year or something, he could be a 3 - 4 year investment.
However, as a GM who used to trade my picks away a lot, you'll regret trading them if you never restock. When your players start retiring, that's assets turning into nothing.

I wouldn't call that a "muggin" either. Pavalec isn't an established goalie by any means, and Richie's 1st will be bottom 15. Instead, he gets Boyle for the rest of his career.

It's a muggin cause Boyle is worth a lot more than what i got. I was goin get the same thing for Brindy but it got denied. But this gets approved? Boyle is leap years ahead in value compared to Brindy.

Actually the trade can't even be approved, this still puts Chicago over the cap.

How do you figure you were "getting the same" for Brind'Amour? Pavelec is a legit prospect. You're getting a late first AND Pavelec. For Brind'Amour you were getting a mid to late first and second. So Pavelec is worth like a 50th pick? B/c if so, I'll trade you a second for him.
Cry me a river. Funny how unless you brutalize someone in a deal it's no good.

I'm confused? Why is one of the smartest GMs in the league, upset that he got beat in a deal if he agreed to it? So confused...

I dunno how you turn down 1 deal and approve another with almost the same return in both.
