yeah...i dont see why Wally had his panties tied in a knot about this Personally i don't care and i was just bustin em. It was a pretty good debate. Even if you draft yourself you still can't use yourself. You have to be drafted or signed by an NHL team 1st.

nope...the rule is simply that if a player is not rated and he is to be used in the sim, he shall be rated 50 in all categories.

I don't think there will be an emergency with that 62 mil payroll of yours. I still don't know why you can draft him if he has not been drafted in real life or signed.

You have 19 rated forwards.

So what...hes on my roster...if i think him rated at 50 is more valuable than someone else at 68, i should be able to make that call. as for your drafting thing....Preds got Syvret who was never drafted nor signed...same dif...dont make my lines for me

We have different rules for north americans. You were born in Holland. You're in the same boat with Sergei Shirokov who has been undrafted twice. No one can pick him up until he is drafted or signed by an NHL club. Ala Thomas Pock. At least Shirokov has registered himself for an NHL draft. You have not. You get your guy made for emergencies. Meaning if you can't ice 4 lines you get a player rated 50 to use. You don't get him at the start of the season and play him on your 4th line all year long. Phoenix can clarify. I still don't get how you're legal anyway since you're an undrafted, unsigned euro.

I wanted to claim him off waivers but he wasn't elligible and then he was awarded BPA to San Jose in our draft. Can we even do that if he was skipped in 05 (Wally made it sound like he was skipped I don't know if he was or not).

According to our rules Shirokov can't be on our teams. He's an undrafted, unsigned euro.
Same with Christophe Gawlik who Pitts took 34th.
I don't know how that's goin get sorted out but it's one of the problems that we'll always have if we do our draft before the NHL's.

No disrespect wally...but could you just shove it lol.
Praline said I could draft him. Now you are the one making up stupid "european" rules. If a player gets passed over in his draft year you can get him.... nuff said...dude you better step off

If a player gets passed over in his draft year you can get him A NORTH AMERICAN for the 25th time. Euros have to be drafted or signed by an NHL club before we can pick them up. They can be passed over 8 times and we still can't pick then up. Is it really that hard to understand?
