I'd say one could easily argue that based on the aura around the two teams right now. In Pittsburgh players are retiring, coaches getting canned, blasting team, unhappy vets. In Washington everyone seems to be just having fun. And it's translating into the standings, where the Caps are overachieving. No one can gauge who has more of a passion. It's impossible. You have to take about a million things into consideration and we know about 4 of em.

Passion really isn't the best way to put it they both have a passion for the game or they wouldn't be where they are now but it's like redwings said its how they display their passion that makes a huge difference Ovechkin has a very upbeat and excited additude where as Crosby just gets angry.

I think Wally is planning to deal 4-5 of his 1st rounders in this years draft for Crosby.

Again, though ... AO's playing with no pressure, other than the pressure to prove he's a good hockey player. Sid had team expectations piled on him, and since they suck (not his fault) there are a lot of disappointed people out there (plus the abuse he takes on the ice), Sid's clearly frustrated. That'll change with age, just as AO celebrating goals in yet another loss with change.

AO gets sticked in the nuts and acts like he got shot in the head. Yea, you're right, AO is a wimp. Just ask Colin White and Vitali Vishnevski.

I think Wally is planning to deal 4-5 of his 1st rounders in this years draft for Crosby. Really does make you wonder what Wally is going to do with all of those picks, though doesn't it. As far as this debate goes, I think both have a tremendous amount of passion for the game and while it may be displayed differently, both of their displays are understandable. The Caps were supposed to be awful so Ovechkin can go out and "have fun" while displaying his amazing talent. There is no pressure for him so he can get excited over teammates scoring goals even if they are losing. The Caps are actually doing "better" than expected which takes even more pressure off of him. As far as the Penguins go, they invested a ton of money in free agents, made trades, and got Crosby. Most people had them pegged as a playoff team (not me, just ask PHI, he and I both thought they would struggle) and some even pegged them as a Stanley Cup contender. Well that puts pressure on a team and then you draft Crosby who's supposed to take over the game as an 18 year old and be Gretzky, Lemieux, Howe and all the other greats as an 18 year old. No pressure there. While Crosby still probably has more talent than Ovechkin, he is frustrated because the team is not playing well and as an 18 year old it's kind of nice to see him get pissed off because he is so competitive. Call him a baby if you want but he does attract attention to himself just because of his name so he deals with a lot more punishment than other players. As he matures I think he'll learn how to deal with it. I mean how mature were all of us when we were 18 and we didn't have any spotlights on us. Anyway that's my two cents on the issue but one thing that can be said is these 2 are amazing to watch and I don't even think we've seen half of their talents yet. It will be fun to discuss them in 5 or even 10 years.

AO gets sticked in the nuts and acts like he got shot in the head. Yea, you're right, AO is a wimp. Just ask Colin White and Vitali Vishnevski. I never said he was a wimp. He took a dive and crawled around on the ice like he was shot. If he was a wimp he'd be one of these. That actually looks a little bit like Jackets. He must be Dutch too.
