AO is at the redline more than anyone in the league. Only cause Mogilny isn't in the league anymore.

The one problem i do have with him though is he goes crazy after every goal he scores. Even the goal he didn't score, he just got credit for it he went nuts. The Russians in the 70's didn't do that. I don't know why they do that now. There's nothin wrong with a celebration but act like you've done it before. How terrible, the kid plays with passion. What a crime! I don't think Ovechkin necessarily sits at the red line. If he did, his plus/minus would suck (especially considering he's on the ice with Witt, Muir, Majesky, and Biron sometimes). But he's 3rd on the team. I think he just has great acceleration and hockey sense, and can sense a breakout.

This is one of the weird things I never understood when I came here, how everyone was so opposed to people actually celevrating after a goal. Don't see what kind of problem one could have with that?

I'd say one could easily argue that based on the aura around the two teams right now. In Pittsburgh players are retiring, coaches getting canned, blasting team, unhappy vets. In Washington everyone seems to be just having fun. And it's translating into the standings, where the Caps are overachieving.

Good point, but it's worth noting there were no expectations in WSH this year, while some were picking the Pens to win the Cup. Both of these guys are amazing, passionate and fun to watch. I don't necessarily agree with the Staal comparisons, Wally, b/c Staal had a huge frame he needed to grow into. Crosby isn't going to get any thicker, and if you watch Staal a lot, you know a big part of his improvement is his ability to shield defenders, win battles in the corners and just overpower defenders when heading toward the net. Crosby's probably going to have always do it with finesse. I think we can all agree that if both these guys continue to produce for the next few years, it's going to be a fun comparison and good rivalry for the league.

No, people get on Crosby because he blows a fuse when he gets involved in the physical part of the game. Someone hits him, he shouts "F*CK YOU". That sends a bad message, like he's a prima donna. When Ovechkin (or even someone else on the team) scores, Ovechkin gets really excited. He's putting forth a positive energy instead of a negative one, like Crosby.
