I have a feeling I know who it is, but just wanted a discussion on it. I took AO, hes been unreal, Crosby has had some sick moves but hes all of a sudden disappeared and is going through some rough stuff. Id probably go AO, Lundy/Phaneuf/Crosby.

20 points in his last 15 games is a ruff stretch for this kid eh? (meaning crosby) I voted crosby, because he is just flat out sick, I love AO as much as the next guy, he's prolly even the better player now, but to me, AO isn't much of a rookie, had he done what he's doing now as an 18 or 19 year old (as crosby is doing) I would give it to him, but jesus christ you guys, AO had 4 years of the russian superfriendsleague or whatever it's called, compared to 2 years of the Q...hmmm...russian league or the q, russian league or the q, I wonder which is the better league hmm...another thing, crosby just turned 18!!! he's only acouple months older then I, crosby will only be 19 one month before AO will turn old enough to drink (legally) in the states! that maybe only 2 years but those two years, cpessially at those specific ages, mean TONS, physcially and mentally. I've seen alot of AO, not nearly as much as most of you, and much more in highlight then accual game unfortuantly, and I agree he is amazing, and prolly the best player in the league, so give him the hart, but the Calder has to go to crosby, the point differential isn't even that far apart, like 54 - 62, I think the 2 years age difference more then makes up for those 8 points, I really can't wait to see crosby at AOs age, he'll prolly never be as flashy, or as comical as AO but IMO crosby will be 10 times the player AO is, not a knock on AO, just how good Crosby is, and don't give me this crap about how Crosby has better teammates because from what I've watched of the penguins outside of acouple other players, the capitals maybe the better team! Pittsburg could use Matt Bradley back! now everyone else, dismiss me and tell me why I'm wrong

The Calder goes to the best "rookie". Crosby can't win it because he's younger than AO

You have your own opinion, so I hope no one will bash you. But I think Ovechkin is so far. Technically Ovechkin is a rookie and he is doing better than all the others. Doesnt really matter if he has been doing it longer. He still has the title of "rookie" in the NHL and he is asking who is doing the best so far out of the rookie players THIS year. I would say by looking at the stats and Ovechkin is. Yes Crosby MAY be better when he gets Ovechkin's age, but he is speaking of this moment and this year. I have not watched every game that each of them played, but I would say I have watched about an equal amount each and I would say Ovechkin stood out more to me. Crosby is good and who knows maybe will get better than Ovechkin. But for right now and this season, I would say Ovechkin is better. (sorry if it seemed I was bashing ya, was not what I meant to do

I voted for AO even though Crosby will be better.
As an aside, Prucha should be on there instead of Vanek.

I voted AO.
IF AO wins the Hart, could Crosny take the Calder?

Ovechkin is unbelievable he has gotta have the calder for sure....he is playing better than Crosby in every aspect of the game....but its still unfair to compare them against each other....

how is it unfair to compare them? The nature of being up for the same award is to be compared with one another. This whole age thing is dumb ... most people who win the Calder aren't 18.

lol u guys complaint about Vanek being on there.... hahaha.... Thats funny, what do you expect with a poll that really should only have 2 maybe 3 players on it? How do you all RANK the players for say... top 5 in rookie voting? I put mine above. But if I had to split up that 3 way tie for 2nd Id put crosby 2nd Lundy 3rd and Phaneuf 4th.

It's not AO's fault he was good enough to play in the Superleague for all those years, and it's also not his fault he's a 20-year old rookie. Blame Bettman for that one.. or else Ovy would've been here last year.
