"Head scout David Conte steps up to the mic at the Chicago Blackhawks table" Enver Lisin Dammit Wally - He went 50th, and I was afraid he'd go sooner so I traded up to 34. And then you snag him at 31. I actually had Lisin higher on my list then I did Korpikoski, but I figured Lisin would survive an extra 10 spots. Totally ruins the Thibault trade. On that note...I *might* be shopping the 34th. Let me know if you've got any interest.

no doubt, looking forward to my 3rd selection. It should move slightly faster since more deals of picks shouldnt really occur, some GMs are probably setting up to opt out of the draft relatively soon which will speed it up a ton. Teams like COlorado still have yet to choose though:)

I was looking at Lisin at 28 but I thought it was a stretch to take him there. Knowing Wally got him, maybe I should have taken him now

I'm glad i messed with a few peoples lists taking him at 31.

Lisin is still a big gamble. He's talented, but faded at the end of the year, and apparently his work ethic SUCKS. Yeah yeah, I know they said the same about Kovalchuk, but it's never a good thing when a prospect goes from being ranked in the top 15 to being taken 50th overall.

I've heard his work eithic blows and he has a very good work ethic. I'll side with the 2nd.
If the NHL teams want to take someone who should have been a mid 1st and select him 50th that's fine with me. The same guys took a prospect ranked in the mid 30's and took him 5th.
Plus he's a player with 1st line potential who can score goals. One thing my team doesn't have is a pure goal scorer. That's one of the reasons i gambled on Radulov, cause he has the ability to be the sniper my team needs.

I got a guy better than Radulov who should be a better sniper, Vanek! But I wasnt sure about Lisen myself, didnt scout him too well to be honest but it seems as though your defence is pretty solid so you may as well go offence, although I think your weakest point is still in goal, your lucky beflour signed 2 years, gives you some time. I guess you fcan trade for one pretty easy though too if need be.

lol i forgot about raycroft... damnit, Vanek will surprise alot of people, hes gonna have to otherwise he'll basically be letting down his country as the first big name player to come out of Austria, he has to lead that team in world tournaments. Hes gonna be an offensive machine, ive heard tons of reports about him having a tendancy to be lazy and just as many reports that say hes a 3 zone player so who knows who is more accurate, probably a little more of the 1st opinion because its pretty hard to find one who is offensive yet a 3 zone player.

the thing i heard about vanek is that he's not really lazy, it's just that in the clutch he seems to turn it on into a 5th gear, and scouts just wonder why he doesn't play like that all the time. good problem to have in my opinion.

Ive heard about his high gear when the games on the line, havent heard that theorum behind it, which makes sense. I hope that is the problem, not lazyness.

maybe we should try to speed up the draft slightly? Not much need to take a full 24 hours to make a pick in the 2nd round, its not life or death. I think next year we should make it 12-18 hours or so.
