no yours was done just fine, I just think that people should check the boards a bit more, its one thing if they are lazilly checking the boards when they know there pick is coming up in 2-5 selections. But if you want to use your time to think it over or propose trades involving it then thats fine. Also letting the board know your doing this helps too, so we dont have to check the boards too often if we are shortly after yoou cause we know you will likely take a while.

maybe we should try to speed up the draft slightly? Not much need to take a full 24 hours to make a pick in the 2nd round, its not life or death. I think next year we should make it 12-18 hours or so. I thought the point of doing the draft this way was to draw it out over the whole summer to keep interest

yes, we have other things planned to keep interest in the league, next offseason we wont need to drag out the draft because we will likely have free agency and contracts to worry about. The world cup should be a fun thing though, I hope canada choses Redden and maybe Spezza lol (doubt spezza will make it) but I hope Russia takes samsonov and USA takes Gomez. My organization has granted all of my players the opportunity to join their national teams in this tournament.

So now that i have picked 4 picks i need to drop a guy or mayb its after 5 for me ill have to check but how do i drop a guy again Every team has 3 picks that don't count against their 40 man roster. If you want to pick more than 3 you have to make room on your 40 man roster by dropping someone to waivers or makin a deal. Email Phoenix your waiver drop at praline43@yahoo.com.

Well Phoenix has been sending out current roster emails quite regularlly of late, there was one about 4-5 days ago, I'll send you that email, its pretty up to date obviously I usually hang onto at least 1 of these at all times, generally the more up to date one, if its not then i'll just keep track of things on my own as to which players have moved recently. It wont have the last 10 or so picks int he draft or the last couple trades. Usually he will send this out with the waiver results which are made public to the league every wednesday. Alot of this information is in the rules. If you only have 39 players before the draft and you drafted 4 players now, then 3 will become red shirted and the other 1 will be added to your 40 man roster... So the next selection you make would result in you needing to drop someone from you team. The red shirt rule was introduced this year so no players on your team before this draft were red shirted. Red shirt criteria is found in the rules section of the board.

First off, I'm not at home with my lists, and I've had a couple inquiries for the 34th, so don't expect to see a PHX selection til at least 4:30 tomorrow EST.
At the conclusion of the draft, when a team opts to choose no more players, I'll ask which three draftees the team wants to redshirt. Anyone drafted beyond that will have to take away a roster spot. This will start to happen at the begining of the third round.
None of the players we are drafting will be in the World Cup, or preseason for that matter. No need to speed up the draft just so we can do those other things.

IMO, we shouldn't have to announce our three redshirts and trim our roster until, say, a week or two before the season. This would get people to draft into later rounds and then they could determine who they wanted to keep. It would suck if some of the guys that went undrafted in our league made NHL rosters and then it was just up to waiver wire status.
