Both Salmelainen and Taffe are projected to be 2nd liners.
Koivu is currently a 2nd liner (although he plays first line on Montreal). My opinion is that Taffe is going to end up with similar ratings to Koivu in two or three years, but I want that kind of production now, so I threw in Salmelainen.
Plus Koivu is injury prone, and could die of cancer at ANY MOMENT...heh (i hope that doesn't offend anyone).
I've got Selanne (who will prolly disappear soon). I've got Gelinas (who will prolly disappear soon). I've got Sean Hill (who will prolly disappear soon). So I thought I'd try to get a guy who has good ratings who I wouldn't have to overpay for cause he's on his way out as well.
I'm not arguing, it's obvious some of you don't think the trade is within boundaries, and that's cool. I just wanted to offer some insight into my I made this trade. Knowing that I'm trying to add an impact player without hurting my current roster, what would you recommend to make the trade more even?
