Hortons likely done for the year, reinjured his shoulder I had heard that he reinjured it in a fight ... I don't think there's been any decision officially released, but those are the rumors swirling. at least there's no hockey, eh?

I'm curious to know what people think about the PHI/NYI trade with Camm/Vokoun for Gonchar/DiPietro. I'm not sure this one is 60/40, think PHI will have to add something to it. Don't think PHI has to add a ton. Vokoun is still young and rated very high, and Camm can be a top 6 forward. Dipieitro will be about an 81-82 when he maxes out and Gonchar is probably at his higest rating now. I think maybe 70-73 type player, maybe third pairing D or third/fouth line forward.

Jackets just screwed Isles. Got older and worse at the same time.

Depends on what value you place on Tanabe though. He was in for a good season with Phoenix before Injury.
According the hockeynews, Tanabe is still #2 on Phoenix's depth charth and still projects as a powerplay QB with his speed, shot and size
*edit....its the Sports Forecaster magazine that has him at the #2 position behind derek morris

Philly and I already talked about this and that he might have to add something to the deal. We are just waiting on feedback from the league to see what you all thought.

As for Tanabe, The Coyotes didnt think he sucked.
accoring to this stat printout from NHL.com, he was 2nd on the team in ice time per game.

I love how everyone pumps their player up AFTER they trade him.

I was the one who asked for Tanabe. The original deal had Dempsey who I can't stand and another player who I won't mention. So Columbus didn't force me to take Tanabe I wanted him since I am in need of younger dmen on my team.
Tanabe will be top 4 for Phoenix when the season starts up again.

Why are you dismantling your team Islanders?

I don't think I am dismantling my team. I am making changes that I was thinking about for the past 6 sims. My team sucks right now and nothing I did with line combinations worked. You can ask Columbus about that since he does my lines for me.
I thought a change was in order and my top performers weren't performing so time for a change. Ya I know I will get some grief from the trades I do but I am use to it since it always happens but oh well.
I ask you this though, if at the trade deadline I traded away the players I already have such as Kovalev, Gonchar, Dipietro, Langkow would you be saying I was dismantling my team or would you be saying I am building for the future just like every non playoff team does. Sells off their top talent and gets players in return that will help in the near future.
I realize that MacInnis won't be around so why not get something in return for him.

yeah, I used the word dismantling more to convey that i think you are taking apart your team not wrecking it. Some of the trades Im not so sure about, like the lindros amonte Tanabe one for Kovalev and Langkow cause Langkow is young and good and amonte and Lindros are old and declining (Lindros might turn around but I doubt he'll ever shake the concussions) Tanabe is questionable to his value, its not as a number 2-3 guys though. Obviously you can do what you want, Im not really criticizing you Im more less asking why your doing it and youve answered that.

To NY Islanders: Igor Radulov Dennis Wideman To Chicago: Al MacInnis I relise Mac is close to retirement, but seriously don't you think you get get alittle more in return? atleast something better then a guy who may never play in NA again and a guy who will be nothing better then a number 5 defensemen...heck a 2nd round pick would have been a better deal for ya Isles....
