Talk about how bad your trade sucks! Let's call this the Mike Milbury thread (or maybe Mike Gillis!)

Needed to get some forwards for Buffalo so this trade should work out for me and Phoenix needed defense, so both teams are on the comeback now that they have GM's, lol!

Between brian elliot and carey price I finally feel comfortable at the goaltender position dispite their lackluster seasons this year. I haven't had a capable goalie since dominic hasek my first season in the league. It sucks losing read though especially since I'm weak up front as is but I think there's a decent chance staffford or brule could show atleast alittle of why they were so highly touted in their draft years.

I need to do a great deal of waiver claims. I have some cleaning to do.

Just so I can get files taken care of. The trade between Washington/Chicago, should the draft picks be 1st in 14 and second in 15, since we already had 2013 draft?

Florida is in desperate need of a goalie. If you have one available, let me know. My western conference team would make a good trading partner, but now sure how that would work. It can be done. I don't remember what was said about this. hmm I'm going to browse the boards and see

I don't know if we actually created a rule for this but I thought you could not trade between your own teams, I'm open for a discussion about this? I'll create a poll.

Once the follow-on Montreal trade is approved giving them a second rated goaltender will the Khabibulin trade be approved?

Hey, St. Louis.
Can you give me your thoughts on your recent deal?

Added depth and shifted youth, Brown is having an off season and I won't be able to handle his contract once it kicks in. Gives me Seidenberg (who is overrated in STHL but whatever), Tanguay and Koivu which rounds out the depth for the playoff push.
Etem definitely has some offensive potential but I think Raffl does as well. Pitkanen is paid way too much for me to hold that salary next season, so Koekkoek is a nice prospect to have for a few years.
Your thoughts?

Tanguay Pitkanen Koivu for Handzus = old for old, but STL has the edge here, especially since pitkanen is useless and handzus is only a PKer Emerson for Koekkoek= Emerson is on his 4th yr since being drafted, and hasn't done much in the NHL. I'm hoping he can stay up for an extended time in the future. Koekkoek was a 10th overall pick in 2012, and could be a great shutdown D-man in the future. Since I think shutdown D-men are the easiest players to find in free agency, I value him a little less, but that's not to say he won't be a good NHLer for a long time. Depending on how you look at it, either of us could have won this portion. Seidenberg for Roussel = STL wins this again. Roussell was drafted 5 yrs ago, and doesn't seem to be able to stay in the NHL. Seidenberg is a proven effective NHLer with good GMHL stats Brown for Raffl= I obviously won this part, but Brown has been in a rut this yr, and only has one more point than Raffl. Could be the case of one player on his way down and one on his way up. Who knows? Overall, I think it's a fairly balanced trade when you break it down to its components.

I thought it was pretty even. I really like Seidenberg.
Brown is having a bad year but i don't think that will be a pattern.
I guess Pitkanen is the X factor. If he can come back healthy next season.
