I think Kopecky should be higher. Yeah, I considered moving him up. What turned me off a bit was he was 8-8-16 in 48 games against a better AHL during the lockout. I still think he'll be plugged into the third line at least with the Wings. Maybe he'll even play with one of his Flyers' teammates (Franzén)? Babcock's hinted that Franzén should play a bigger role this season. He was good for the Griffins the playoffs games I watched. He made their second line.

I think he has it right. Good list of prospects.

1. Tuukka Rask - I'm higher on Rask than most, but I feal not only will he start in the league, but he'll be a star as well. 2. Travis Zajac - Has 1st center upside, likely a 2nd line center though. 3. LeLand Irving - I thought of the Cam Ward comparison even before the public did. He could be a real big time , big game goalie. 4. Simeon Varlamov - Arguably the most pure upside of the 06 goaltending class, I love his athleticism. Reminds me of Khabibulin. 5. Kendal McArdle - Marco Sturm like, good 1st liner very good 2nd liner with speed, work ethic, and finishing ability. 6. Andrej Sekera - Vastly underrated defenseman with outstanding acceleration, exceptional vision, with a cannon of a shot. Will arrive to Buffalo soon and will be a very good two way defenseman. 7. Matt Niskanen - Not far from Lee, much like Matt Carle he had a slow freshman year but expect a big sophomore season. 8. Keith Yandle - Insane offensive upside from the blue line. Great speed, size, puck movement, shot. A steal of the 05 draft. 9. Perttu Lindgren - Similar to Petteri Nokelainen, plain steal in the 05 draft. 10. Dennis Persson - Highly skilled, mobile, puck moving defenseman. 11. Kris Chucko - Big time physical presence will be the utlimate third line winger or a decent second liner if he learns to utalize his shot more..getting out of the NCAA will help. 12. Jeff Petry - very safe bet to be a stud 4th defenseman who can play the PP and PK in 5 years. 13. Joe Pavelski - Besides skating, this highly skilled two way center can do it all. 14. Kirill Tulupov - Upside through the wazzooo... Can't wait to see how he progresses. 15. Mason Raymond - Blistering fast goal scoring winger who can be a one man high light real, but isn't selfish by any means. 16. Mike Morris - a real good third liner if his concussion's are no longer an issue. 17. Jakub Vojta - Play was hit and miss for me in the OHL after leaving me thinking he had 1st round upside with his play at the U-18's a year ago. Enigma from the back end. 18. Chris Collins - Almost won the Hobey, Boston needs a guy like him... sneaky, slippery, sniper with speed. 19. Felix Schutz - Call him Marcel the second. 20. T.J. Miller - A sleeper, 6-4 & can skate and shoot.
Graduated:
Steve Bernier - I don't consider him a prospect anymore, he'll be a top 3-5 power forward in the game in his prime and could challenge for 100 points some day. Milan Michalek - 30 goal, 70 point upside in this blazing fast, big, ultra skilled two way left winger. Marcel Goc - Either one of the best third liners in the game some day or a very good second liner. Doug Murray - Thank him when he's injuring half the league.

Close to a year later and heading into the draft:
Top 10 at a glance: 1. (1) Devin Setoguchi 2. (8) Kristopher Letang 3. (NR) Jakub Kindl 4. (5) Derick Brassard 5. (NR) Leland Irving 6. (2) Luc Bourdon 7. (3) Benoit Pouliot 8. (10) Clarke MacArthur 9. (NR) Jamie McGinn 10. (4) Lauri Tukonen
1.) Devin Setoguchi RW - Tore up the WHL in the 2nd half of the season scoring close to 60 pts in the last 40 games including playoffs. 35 or so of which were goals. Setoguchi got off to a slow start after being hampered by injury during the offseason, ultimately resulting in his being sent to back to junior. He then was traded to a Northern BC team he was unfamiliar with and had to learn an entirely new system. The year all in all was a strong one for Setoguchi and he looks poised to begin his pro career next season.
2.)Kristopher Letang D - Letang enjoyed an immensely successful season this year. He scored at over a 1.25 ppg pace which was tops amongst Dmen in the QMJHL last season. Not only that, he was voted the best overall defenceman in the QMJHL and the best defensive defenceman in the QMJHL last season to go along with his all star team voting at the WJHC. Letang's season also included a 7 game stint with the Pittsburgh Penguins where he notched 2 goals. Letang has a spot to lose at camp next year with the Penguins.
3.) Jakub Kindl D - Another top defenceman in the CHL, Kindl put up impressive numbers for the 2nd straight season for the Kitchener Rangers. Kindl played as much as 40 minutes some nights for the Kitchener Rangers and improved in all aspects of his game. Kindl will likely spend a year in the AHL before seeing time with a well experienced Detroit blueline.
4.) Derick Brassard C - Despite being injured almost the entire regular season, Derick Brassard falls in at number 4 on the Nashville top prospects list. Brassard came back almost exactly where he left off last season with the Drummondville Voltigeurs. Brassard had an outstanding playoffs as well where he notched 24 points in just 12 games. Brassards junior career has ended and there are rumours Columbus might give him a shot on the big club next year. Nashville hopes he spends a year in the AHL.
5.) Leland Irving G - Team Canada's backup at last years WJHC falls in at number 5 on the preds depth chart amongst prospects. He should be the starter this Christmas for the Red and White, but will be pushed by fellow countryman, Jonathan Bernier. Irving put up stellar numbers in the WHL, leading the way in several categories including save percentage and shutouts. Irving has a long road ahead of him with Miikka Kiprusoff manning the net in Calgary, but is undaunted by the task.
6.) Luc Bourdon D - Former team mate or Kris Letang, and higher profiled player at draft time, Luc Bourdon is 6th on the teams list. Bourdon enjoyed another successful season in the QMJHL. His experience during the last two WJHC's and memorial cup appearance have him ready to play pro hockey. Bourdon will be given a chance to crack Vancouver's lineup, but will be better served spending a year in the AHL despite having started last year in the NHL.
7.) Benoit Pouliot LW - Benout Pouliot started off the year on a tear, scoring at almost a gpg clip in his first 20 games in the AHL before tapering off almost completely. The fast start did earn him a 3 game call up with the Wild this season, but only proved that he wasnt ready yet. Pouliot still has temperment issues at times in the AHL, but is learning to play both ends of the rink. He holds maybe the most pure skill out of any player on Nashvilles list.
8.) Clarke MacArthur C - Clarke MacArthur had a very successful season. Question marks were surrounding his size and skill at the start of this season. Though he proved to be successful in minor league hockey, Clarke had to shake the discussions of him not being able to produce at a pro hockey level. MacArthur put those rumours to rest this season when he scored at over a ppg pace in the AHL, ultimately earning a call up to the NHL where he also scored 3 goals and 4 assists during his 19 game stay.
9.) Jamie McGinn LW - Jamie Mcginn enjoyed a very successful season with the Ottawa 67's this year. He led the team in scoring depsite rumours that it may be his linemate logan couture who was the catalyst on that team. McGinn managed to net 46 goals and 89 pts for his team this season, ultimately earning himself his first professional contract with the San Jose Sharks.
10.) Lauri Tukonen LW - Lauri Tukonen had almost a replica season to the one he had in 05-06. Though he still remains one of the youngest players in the AHL, Tukonen has to step up his offensive game to prove his worth in the NHL. Owning NHL size and instincts, Tukonen has shyed away from some of the physical parts of the game and needs to take a big step next season to be considered a legitimate prospect. Depsite all of this, Tukonen still slides in at number 10 for the Predators based on potential alone.
Honourable Mentions: - Darren Helm C - Tyler Plante G - Kevin Klein D - Ryan Potulny LW - Cal Clutterbuck RW - Matthew Corrente D
