You forgot the fact that they had about the same point totals this past season. 24 for Dimi, 31 for Perreault. I really don't understand this trade. You gave up a player 10 years younger who scores just as much as the guy you got. Perreault has a higher rating. It's a matter of winning now (Isles) versus the future (me).

don't worry about my team, just worry about the useless Flames of yours. You mean that useless Flames team that just ripped you apart 4-0?

What was Detroit thinking trading Dempsey for Gill? Didn't Dempsey win our Norris last year? And he already has five goals this year ... bad move, IMO ... defensive defensemen are easy to acquire.

Yeah he won the Norris. But the GMHL Norris, not the NHL Norris. Does that carry much value? Not really. Look at my defensive corps. I have better offensive defensemen that Dempsey in Visnovsky and Liles. The only defensive defenseman I have is Desjardins. And good defensive defenseman aren't easy to come by. Gill is younger than Dempsey and his DF rating is 5 points higher, his overall is only 1 point lower. This trade made perfect sense to me.

But we're playing the GMHL, not the NHL ... and I don't think the 3-10-13 and 2-7-9 is more valuable than 5-2-7 Dempsey has. he's on pace for 25-30 goals ... I'd take that. And take it from someone with defensive defensemen ... they're much easier to get than ones that can score. I would've held out for more.

I would've held out for more. Trust me. You wouldn't be saying that if you're giving up the 2nd most goals in the league and you're PK is the worst in the league at a dismal 72%. Scoring is not a problem for my team - I think I'm highest scoring or else 2nd highest in the league. Defense is. And that's what I addressed in this trade. But we're playing the GMHL, not the NHL OK, but it's not like Dempsey got a rating increase for winning the GMHL Norris, whereas he would have if he won the NHL Norris. That's why GMHL trophies, although a good thing to implement, aren't overly important.

The Flyers, struggling for offense on the blueline, and Vancouver, looking for more defense, have struck a deal. To Vancouver: Willie Mitchell Dean McAmmond To Philly: Bret Hedican Eric Belanger Approved by Chicago I thought Vancouver worked Philly in this deal, nice job van.

Belanger is almot equal to Mcammond skill wise but is alot younger. Other than that the trade is 50-50. Philly has the upside not only because of age differences but also Sutter probably won't sign Mccamond and he won't put up numbers anywhere else.

All he gave thats good is Gonchar, you could argue Langkow too but hes a career 2nd liner at best, 3rd liner on a lot of teams.

I don't know im disappointed I dealt the best offensive defensemen in the league though.
Let's break 'er down
Langkow = Gagne Konowalchuk = Kvasha (edge to STL)
Gonchar, Aitken, Tamer, and Mondou < Mara, Markov, Rachunek (but by how much? is it within 60/40...I mean I dealt a 78 and 77 for him and im getting a 78, 75, and 75 for Gonchar, 2 #6/7 defensemen, and a decent center prospect...tore up the Q last year and is a 7C on HF.
