Meh.....dont pencil in Pitkanen as a future #1 d-man until he gets there. My opinion is that there are some serious holes in Pitkanen's game...when he plays, im never impressed...everytime I see him he falls down on a play or something. Morrison is proven. Some of you guys are way to crazy about prospects lol. I'd even say Pittsburgh won this deal. First off learn your facts.....Pitkanen's not a prospect anymore he played over 70 games last year. And what are you talking about you keep seeing him falling down all the time that's not true at all? Anyway Pitkanen lead Philadelphia's powerplay the whole season. Pitkanen was the reason we had the BEST PP in the league until the last week in the season when Ottawa overtook us and we finished 2nd. Pitkanen had an excellent season early on but like most very young rookies he trailed off towards the end because of a lack of conditioning. By the end of the season he was a liability and even worse in the playoffs. He wasn't producing offensively and was doing horrible in the defensive zone. He was also getting like 10-15 minutes a game I think compared to his 20 during the season. Remember this is his rookie season as a 19 year old. Your right he might have some flaws in his game but s does every young prospect. Pitkanen IMO will be the Flyers #1 defensemen quite easily passing Kim Johnsson and I hope he develops his defense a bit better so he can become an elite Norris contending defensemen. ps. I forgot Pitkanen also lead us in +/- for most of the season too until around March when I think LeClair passed.

Ya really, these ratings really tell you everything about a player No but the facts do. Pitkanen is like 9 years younger than Morrison and Schaefer is able to be a good 3rd line LW or a decent 2nd line LW. Let's say a 20 year old top 4 defensemen and a 27 year old 3rd line LW overtakes a 29 year old decent 1st line center.

Pitkanen was 20 this year.
I like him. He has a ton to learn though. He's not good in his own end. He needs to keep his head up.

He might also have bad concussion problems down the road, or it may have been a one time thing, we'll have to wait and see.

Yeah he needs to learn how to take hits better without a doubt. 2 of the concussions came from people leaving their feet and another came from taking a shot off the back of his helmet.

He wasn't bad except for in the playoffs and right at the end of the season. He also managed to keep the best +/- on the team for most of the season which is why he got a 74 DF in our league.

It should be like 68.

Pitkanen is a "prospective" #1 defenceman. (and hes certainly not there yet)

73 rating is a nice plug on your bottom 2 lines, with the possibility of him returning down the road lol Not sure if I agree with that predicition... Fleury is done, hope im not squashing your trade bate but he has like a double chin now hes so outta shape. He was at a flames playoff game and was on tv.

Dang I think St. Louis' trade of Arnott for Langkow was brutal for Tampa, fair but brutal cause Langkow is prob playing with iginla and simon or reinprecht in calgary... His stock rose with that trade in RL IMO.... yikes, fair though

His stock rose with that trade in RL IMO.... yikes, fair though Well Arnott has the PF ratings and his PA is 4 better this season. Everything else seems to be pretty similar but the 3 years Langkow has on Arnott will probaby be worth it.
