I agree about the Parise to Richards comparisons... It makes absolutely no sense. The Parise lovefest started the day Pierre McGuire (I think that's who it was, but could be wrong) went on his rant during the draft about how good Parise was when he started falling a few picks. I remember hearing it and becoming sick to my stomach as they literally called out every GM who passed on him. Add that to the fact that the Devils, who are traditionally good at drafting, traded up to pick him, and you can now understand why everyone in the media is so in love with ZP.

People put way too much stock in Maguire. Same thing has happened with Ryan, cause Maguire blasted him on draft day too. If one ever actually listens to Pierre analyze a game, it's easy to figure out he has no clue.

You're wrong Pitts, Macguire is actually pretty smart. No he's not, he actually doesn't have a clue when it comes to the gameplay, see his roasting of Malkin on Downie's goal. God knows how he became a coach.

www.hockeysfuture.com/article.php?sid=8353&mode=threaded&order=0Carter 9 I didn't know AO was draft in 03? I thought they dropped the ball huge this time. They should have waited some time because most of these "prospects" won't be prospects accoridng to their criteria in a month or 2. 8 of the top 10 have played most of the games this year.

What a stupid list.... they shaft a lot of the young players putting up great numbers in the NHL ...so I guess they like "potential" more than NHL performance... but then they make Ovechkin number one over Crosby because of NHL performance...so I guess they like NHL performance more than "potential" make up your mind
