I honestly think we need to look at contraction. The inactivity in this league is pretty apparent after this draft.

I'm not sure how we could even do contraction. I agree that the with the inactivity of about 10 GM's it is important to the active teams that we do something. I think we all need to really look at getting some new blood in here. We've got about 15-20 active GM's and if we can each look at getting 1 guy, we should be fine. So I'm sending out the HAIL MARY, please I'm sure we all know 1 person who is a die hard hockey fan that needs a challenge with no NHL to watch right now! Get out and start recruiting. I don't even care about the application at this point. Have them send me an email at sticker76@yahoo.com or you can just message or email me with the info. It's time to get some fresh meat in here.

boston will select jordan martinook Much like my pick of tanner pearson earlier, I picked up martinook on wavers this season so he's ineligible for the draft

Please pick again, Boston. If anyone else owns a player who was drafted this year, please tell us in this thread

It's possible, The cap could stay roughly the same, just the waiver wire would have more talent on it. A contraction draft at the beginning to get rid of the teams would work.

I have no clue how it would work with sims. The other problem it could create is if we get new guys who want to join league and there is no team available. We would have to create an expansion process, protecting a certain number of players and what not, and just not sure if that would entice new GM's or deter them.

We've had a lot of problem getting new GM's. I think it's just the way our league works. We don't do many trades, there's no free agency, and it's slow moving. For a new guy there's no real way to get an attachment to his team.
I'm not hating on the league, but maybe we need to change our outlook. I know in FHL it was possible to have smaller leagues than thirty teams. I'm not sure how it works in the sim but I found leagues through the STHS website that were smaller than 30 teams.

half of the problem consists of long-term GMs, who should be well attached to their teams by now but who don't care anymore and no longer follow the league. Even some moderators and admins aren't paying attention anymore. I'm not sure why they suddenly all abandoned the league at seemingly the same time, but they did. Guys who used to post all the time now don't even log in for months.
