ya, i think comrie would have attracted a 2nd rounder from somewhere I never knew that a player that played in 63 games that had 27 points is worth a 2nd rounder? I guess that some people are over valuing Comrie. As for Montreal offering prospects, yeah he did, but they weren't anything to brag about either. With getting 2 picks in a deep draft it will help in the rebuild mode that I am currently in. Also, if the trade was that bad, then it would have been rejected now wouldn't it have.

God, why does everyone get so defensive when we discuss trades here? This is an opinion on trades thread, no? Relax people.

I can understand some people thinking they would give up a second or more for Comrie but to me I don't think MTL did as well as everyone says he did. Comrie is a decent player but I think a 3rd and 4th in a deep draft is pretty good. Comrie has always had a lot of talent but has never lived up to it. Don't get me wrong, I think MTL probably does win the deal, but let's see what NYI can do with those 2 picks in a very deep draft. I think I probably would've given up the same for Comrie but honestly I had no interest in him. Just my thoughts.

I realize people are saying that they would have given more, but that is after the fact that Comrie got traded, but if I didn't trade Comrie, I seriously doubt that someone would have given more than what I got for him. Also, using the "playing in Long Island is a curse" excuse is an excuse and only an excuse. Comrie had all the playing time in NY and didn't prove anything. I mean he probably was one of the better players on the team and still couldn't produce, what does that say about the player. Comrie is a good player and that is it. I still don't say that I would have gotten a 2nd for him. I have had talks with a couple teams and they wouldn't part with a 2nd or a good prospect. This is the best deal I got with Comrie.
