You think so eh Florida? Me and Luke got him in our big pay league. Took him with the 2nd last pick of our entire 06 draft. We have kept an eye on him. Not sure what to think of him. Reminds me of Ryan Potulny except much smaller...

I don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell of making the NHL.

I don't think he has a snowball's chance in hell of making the NHL. Have you seen the kid play, just wondering. I haven't so I'm not going to say he will make it by any means. The only thing I've read is that he's got incredible skill, work ethic, and love for the game. Those things at least give him a "snowball's chance".

I just can't see a 5'5 kid making it in the NHL. It's one thing to be successful against NCAA defenseman, but he'd get absolutely dominated by bigger, stronger NHL defenseman.

Gerbes good, he's really good. Obviously his size is an issue but he does have a pretty low center of gravity and is harder to knock off his skates then most small guys. He's lightning quick and has great hands, he's got great awareness and an amazing work ethic. Obviously I'm bias as I'm a huge BC and Sabres fan but man the kid can play. He's got a shot for sure but nothing close to a guarentee. he'll definantly get tested in the NHL we'll just have to see if he can stick. I'm real excited about having him signed.

Im so sick of Dallas, i wish that team would just fold... Now another intriguing player will disappear down there. What a waste of an NHL franchise.

but he'd get absolutely dominated by bigger, stronger NHL defenseman. I think you're making the assumption that you have to be big and strong to be good in the NHL. You don't. There are plenty of players weaker than Gerbe in the NHL. Briere and Datsyuk to name 2. The most important thing is being strong on your skates and balance, which from what i've heard, Gerbe is. I think height is less and less important in the NHL. Also, you need to remember he'd be playing in a run and gun system in Buffalo. High tempo, high offense system will work for Gerbe if he's as advertised.
