fluff thread for anyone who wants to talk about a particular prospect....
Matt Moulson.
Why the RL Pens let this guy walk is beyond comprehension. After somewhat of a slow start adjusting to the speed of the AHL, he has taken off and now leads the team lead in points (granted O'Sullivan got a midseason recall) with 25g 30a and is among the league leaders in +- with a +25.
He was one of the last cuts in Kings camp last year, and will likely stick next year. Id expect him to start on the 3rd line, but finish very strong as an established top sixer. Another in a long line of brilliant waiver transactions ;D

Id pimp Darren Helm.
The kid has some wheels on him, decent hands and a good work ethic. Should be useful at the NHL level in a few years. Seems like hes following in Clarke MacArthurs foot steps almost to a T.

Kris Russell aka Rafalski jr.

speaking of Rafalski clones, Andy Greene.
Greene was brilliant in his NHL playoff debut, but thats expected as he always plays like that. So poised and calm with or without the puck. Broke up a 3 on 1 last night with a gorgeous poke check. He excells at that kind of thing, not overly aggresive so he doesnt get caught out of position looking for the big hit. Very good offensive intincts.
I said in the defensive prospects thread that he will be an All-Star, and I am sticking to it. If Rafalski leaves the Devils this offseason, Greene is the reason why. I consider myslef very lucky for being able to grab such a high calibur player off the waiver wire.

It seems like there are a ton of Rafalski prospects... I hear that comparison more than any others. Ive heard it for Letang too. In regards to him though, he'll be better than rafalski.

I'll take a guy more under the radar and pimp Chris Bourque. My darkhorse pick to make the Caps roster next season.

Some of my guys are having success in the OHL playoffs. Tlusty (Soo) is eighth in playoff scoring, finishing with 9-8-17 in 13 games, and James Neal (Plymouth) is T-15th with 8-6-14 in 10 games.

[glow=orange,2,300]Steve Downie[/glow]
22 points (8 goals 14 assists) in 9 games
1 more point than last years playoffs in 10 less games.
2 less points than the leaders Kane and Gagner in 3 less games.

Matt Carle is the best player I have drafted, got him in the second round...he's not really a prospect anymore though. I like Alex Edler, I got him in the 4th or 5th round and he should be an NHL regular next year considering how solid he has played for the nucks' on his various call ups.

Steve Downie is pretty sweet... he'll probably run into problems getting injured but hes got alot more skill than people give him credit for. Hes basically the next Avery except maybe has potential for 20-30 more points a season if he doesnt get in trouble.
A nice addition to the new age broad street bullys... him and Richards could be mean to play against.
