Small time signing, but Andrew Ebbets signed with Anaheim. I could've sworn he was under contract to Ottawa. Anyone know (or care) more info? Ebbs played for Binghamton all year, so he shouldn't be elligible to be signed elsewhere til July 1st? Ebbets was never drafted he was just under contract to Binghampton. Anaheim can sign him because he's not an NHL FA it works just like the guys that sign from Europe.

Sounds like he was under an AHL contract.

Binghamton didn't make the playoffs so technically his season is over.
I thought it was wierd he didn't get called up to the practice squad when Ottawa started the playoffs, he was one of Binghamton's best. Didn't realize he was only on an AHL deal.

Read about this in-depth, b/c Ebbett is an old Michigan guy and I work for a UM magazine ... Ottawa was less than pleased that he jumped ship from the Ducks.

This final series is not only for the cup...it's for the honour of ANDREW EBBETTS

Sean Bergenheim signed a one year, $500K deal with the Isles. Great news for my team.

Not when he's rumored to be slotted to play on the top line with Ryan Smyth Doesn't Smyth have to sign first?

Not when he's rumored to be slotted to play on the top line with Ryan Smyth Doesn't Smyth have to sign first? Obviously. This wasn't really a serious post. I was just relaying what I've heard on the rumor mill... hence the wink.
