He's a safe pick. Top 4 dman written all over him. Haha, I wouldn't say that he's a sure top 4. Barker is the only d-man in this year's draft that you could peg as a surefire top 4 defenseman, so to say that the 10th defenseman taken is, is a major stretch.

Well I am going off what I have read, since obviously I have never seen him play. The stuff I've read says he is a safe bet as a top four defenseman, and that he is the best defenseman Russia has right now and will be NHLer, with upside as a #3 guy. He's also already playing in the Russian Super League which is a plus. I've heard him compared to Tjutin, who is not a bad prospect to be compared to, and I love how Ottawa develops their defenseman.
Plus, a large reason he wasn't ranked very high is because he had a couple injuries this season. He was expected to be a 1st Round pick, but fell on draft day.

with Ducks time on the clock coming to an end, I noticed he has already made three entry draft selections. My question is will the league take the BPA for him, or skip him? If the league picks, would he be forced to waive a player form his roster, or could he just waive the draft pick if its not to his liking?
I think he should just be skipped. He made a big deal about being able to use all his draft picks, but its looking like hes not gonna show for this one.

I have to work at 12:30 EST, so I won't be here to see if he's made his pick or not. If he has not, carry on without him, that pick will be skipped since he already has three redshirts.

holy frick, this is like the section from hell, colorado, carolina, NYI and then Toronto to select! Man, I dont understand why we have unactive GMs, Carolina use to be good, hasnt been around much lately and Toronto has been on the fence since day 1, NYI was good for a bit too but not lately. Colorado is always average.

I dont understand why we have unactive GMs Some GMs decided to load up on summer classes and have had a whole lot of work and studying to do... and, unfortunately, when they can finally slack off, they do so to the extreme. My apologies for being an unactive GM. I've simply had to focus my efforts in alternate directions for the past 2.5 months.

Alright, can we seriously try to get this going a little faster? The last few picks have been ridiculous. I'm really trying to get my pick in before I leave on Saturday, so can everyone that has a pick coming up in the next 10 or so be checking pretty regularly?

Yeah it would be nice if this went a bit faster. I don't pick until 69 and am going out of town this weekend. I realize my pick most likely won't come up but if it does I'l miss it. I'll make a list and send it to PHX but it's real difficult to make a list of players I would like when my pick is still almost 20 selections away. And with the way people have been drafting there is no telling who may be left.
