We have a problem ... the ISS just changed the release date of their guide from June 6 to July 6, due to the labor situation making progress. Of course, this is after I bought it. Hopefully Praline can work out a way for us to start the draft after we've had access to this info for a fair amount of time.

Hopefully Praline can work out a way for us to start the draft after we've had access to this info for a fair amount of time. They'll move it up once an agreement is reached next week. Seriosuly tho, if the CBA is resolved prior to July 6th, and the league comes out and says that they are going to hold a draft on the weekend of <insert date here> then we'll wait until the Monday after that date to start our draft. If there is not a CBA reached by July 6th, then we'll carry on as planned. I don't think Ottawa needs the draft guide to pick Crosby or Edmonton/Rangers for the 2nd and 3rd. And just a reminder, in the event we do not have a draft take place, our entry draft "BPA" will be based on the final ISS rankings.

Has anyone got the ISS guide in the past? How detailed is it? How satisfied were you with it?

So is our draft still set for july 6th?
imo i'd rather do the draft then. The NHL's draft might be early august or later. Who wants to wait til then?

I always thought the date was the 5th until like 2-3 weeks ago when it all of a sudden changed. If its the 5th then there wont be a CBA yet, I think they are going to announce it right on the 5th or 6th. So I dunno if we should start ours or not, the real life one wont be for like 2-3 weeks after the announcement which means our first round probably will be completely done or so by the time the RL one starts. Should we just start ours?

Should we just start ours? If, by some miracle, a deal is announced and made public on Tuesday, the league will announce when the entry draft will be. Depending on when that is, we may postpone. However, current rumors say that a CBA will not be ready by the 5th, so we'll start on the 6th. Also, current rumors have a draft date of August 8th or something. That's too long for us to wait, so we'll start on the 6th. The only think that stops us from starting on the 6th is a CBA reached Tuesday, and an announced draft date (in real life) within the next two weeks which is impossible from everything I've read or been told. Hopefully the ISS guild will publish as they've said they will so we can use their final rankings for BPA. Follow this link www.internationalscouting.com/pdf/ISSdraftguide-sample.pdf and turn to page five for a sample of what their BPA looks like. When I get access to the ISS final rankings, I will post them on the site so everyone knows the BPA order. I will not be posting write ups or scouts opinions or anything like that, since it's copyrighted material. I just want everyone to see the BPA list.

Sure wish I had that last year I don't think I ever would have traded Stafford to Florida if I read how high they were on him. Almost any other scouting reports said 2nd/3rd line foward and they're predicting 1st line PF. Not to mention no one mentioned he ended the WJC's in 04 on the 1st line I always heard he played 4th line the whole time. Florida got a pretty good player coming up the ranks soon. However a few other things look pretty good on my part. They weren't as high on Picard last year but since I know he improved a lot of his game physically and defensively he'd be higher this year. They listed him as the 4th best scorer in the draft. Also they listed my 73rd overall selection Oscar Hedman as 5th best offensive defensemen (I do disagree though). I like a few of their other categories. Evan McGrath is #3 in the "Soft as Butter" category and Alexander Radulov is #4 in their "Overrated" category ;D
