Concussions force Deadmarsh to retire
TSN.ca Staff 9/22/2005 8:55:41 AM
Concussion problems have forced Adam Deadmarsh to retire from profesional hockey, according to the Denver Post.
"I've been living on hope the last three years I'd be able to play again, but my body is just telling me it's not going to happen," Deadmarsh told the Post on Wednesday. "I played almost 600 games and wanted to play another 600 more.
"When I think of all the memories I could have had if I kept playing, it's a little tough. But I'm thankful for the time I did have and all the memories. There were a lot of great ones in Colorado, that's for sure."
Deadmarsh yas not filed retirement papers with the league, but told the Post he would officially sign off in the near future.
Deadmarsh played 567 NHL games and scored 184 goals and 373 points for Colorado and Los Angeles. He was traded to the Kings in 2001 as part of the Rob Blake deal. He was also a two-time Olympian with Team USA.

That sucks, was rootin for him. I loved him as a prospect til he got hurt, friggen rangers. Hope they dont do the same to Lundqvist. Sweden probably protected him for so long.
