Theres no way Thornton deserves the MVP over Kipper thats for sure, and I dunno between him and Jagr... I think Kipper is the MVP. San Jose was pegged as thee team to beat out of the Pacific division. Most analysts had them ranked 2nd in the West, so I dont think he really made that big of a difference. They coulda got it back on track, he was just the catalyst.
Without Kipper, I dont even think the flames make the playoffs. Theyd have at least 40 more goals against and lose like 15-20 more games.

Calgary was in the Cup final 2 years ago. Their team doesn't suck and it's no suprise they continued their success. Their the ultimate team.
Lundqvist was a bigger part of the Rangers success than Jagr. Jagr was a scoring machine but they struggled down the stretch when Lundqvist was on the shelf. Jagr was in the line up when the loses piled up, Lundqvist wasn't.
San Jose was supposed to win their division but stunk early on. They were 8-12 and somethin before Thornton showed up and had lost 9 in a row. Thornton turned that team around and turned an average 2nd liner into the Rocket winner. He had more assists than every player but 8 had points.
Jagr also didn't kill penalties and turned into his old self on occasion. Slackin off on the back check sometimes.
And i hate how everyone says Jagr has worse players to play with than Thornton.
Straka (proven) Rucinsky (proven) Nylander (proven) They traded for Sykora (proven) Prucha earned his goals as a rookie
compared to
Cheechoo Marleau (proven) Ekman It pretty much stops there. Bernier and Michalek found chemistry with Marleau but neither reached 40 points. Bernier was a mid season call up after playin a handful of games at the start.
Not to mention the Sharks blueline is ultra young and Nabokov lost his #1 job to Toskala late in the year. They didn't get the goaltending the Rangers got.

Well Wally, its an opinion. We all have one. I think your biggest point is that he made a 20-25 goal scorer the richard winner. Thats impressive. But I just think the difference of where the two teams would be without kipper or without thornton (ie no thornton trade) is far greater on the Calgary side of things.

i dont, had calgary had a goaltender like toskala or nabokov, like SJ had, they maybe wouldnt have won the division to colorado but i still think the difference is greater

Ie... who do you think should win the Hart? I think u think Thornton, but your post was confusing.
