no doubt he's good ... but comparing him to those guys at this point is far-fetched.

He's comparable all right as long as he keeps up his pace this season and he has been consistent as can be. There isn't a more comparable player in the game as far as offensive production, defensive play, heart and leadership.

He has consistent good production, he's defensively sound, and I think he is a good leader.

1) Peter Mueller- #1 C, will be the face of the franchise for years to come but needs work at the defensive end.
2) Kyle Okposo- Has been called the next Jerome Iginla, though I doubt anything close to Iggy, he’ll be a first line RW. Possesses great skill and a large frame. One of the only bright spots in the NYI future.
3) David Perron- Has increased his value significantly this year- classic late bloomer. 1st line winger with great skill.
4) Al Montoya- #1 A goaltender. Could be an nhl starter right now if King Henrik wasn’t ahead on the depth chart.
5) James Sheppard- Top 6 forward. Has a nose for the net and is a smart player. Classic Wild draft picks Very easily has first line upside.
6) Ty Wishart- #2 Dman. Large 6’5 frame with good skating, strong defensively, and good offensive upside. Has #1b upside, but will likely be a good #2 defensemen.
7) Jaroslav Halak- #1 B goaltender. Has succeeded at EVERY level he’s play. Continues to impress me, as I once though he was a fluke.
8) Troy Brouwer- Classic overachiever. The verdict is still out on Brouwer; while some people believe he will we a very good 3rd liner and team captain. Others think he’s got top 6 power forward upside.
9) Riley Nash- Don’t know a lot about him, but was very successful in the BCHL and continues his success as a rookie in the NCAA. Former top 25 NHL draft pick.
10) Viktor Tikhonov- Was voted the top forward of the WJHC while he posted 5 goals and 2 assists for team Russia. Outplayed everyone on the team, and beat out Van Riemsdyk for top forward of the tournament. If he ever makes the trip across, he could be valuable.
Honorable mentions: Jaime Mcbain- Future #4 Dmen
Thomas Greiss- Future #2 A goaltender with 1 B upside.
Yuri Alexandrov – Good size. If he ever comes over he could be anywhere from a #4-#6 Dmen Jhonas Enroth - Starting goaltender for Sweden in the WJHC. Great quickness but lacks size. Christopher Didomenico- 6th rounder by the Leafs has turned out better than expected. Leading Q in scoring.
Matt Halischuk- Team Canada hero in Gold Medal game. Doubt he’ll be anything more than a bottom 6 forward, but has 2nd line upside.
Cory Emmerton- Thought he would have developed quite a bit more by now but is still a good player and will make the show.
Colin Long- current leading scorer in WHL. Will be a first round draft pick; this year’s Perron or Lewis.

Sundin IMO is in a very small class of players that can literally dominate a game with sheer size and skill.
