you know whats brutal about this red shirt scenario. Now my 3rd rounder could very well be worth the same as his 9th rounder if no one drafts past round 3 and he gets free 3rd/4th rounder.... Yikes, we messed up.

Yikes, we messed up. Yeah that sucks. I could trade away my 3rd-8th Round Picks and still get the player I wanted theoretically in the 9th Round whether it be by drafting him or claiming him from waivers after the draft.

that is true, maybe next year we'll be more organized by only being able to have 5 rounds and more red shirts, but we will see

Id like to thank the city of Carolina for being such amazing hosts in this years Entry draft. Also Id like to use this opportunity to offer congrats to Tampa Bay as Eastern Conference champions and fellow Division member Chicago for winning our first Stanley cup. Now, with the 6th overall selection in this years entry draft the Nashville Predators are proud to select out of the Espoo Blues of the Finnish Elitle League, Lauri Tukonen. So much for Phoenix trying to trade up to get him...

I thought it was a lock that I would get him at #9. Oh well. Also, I will entertain offers for my 9th overall. I would want to trade down and get a pick in maybe the late teens as well as another late 1st rounder or a prospect.
